This Saturday, September 6, we will be exploring Kennedy Park in Napa and parts of the Napa River estuary. Fall migration is very slowly starting to trickle through and the breeding birds in our area are departing for their winter grounds. We will never know what we will find. We will be checking out the park, the Napa River and the pond by the college.

A comprehensive list of all birds we find during the walk will be logged on Ebird. You are more than free to keep your personal list but if you would like to avoid looking at your phone screen and keeping numbers, The leader will gladly keep the list and share it with whoever wants it. Just let Tom know at the end of the walk and I will get your Ebird information.

NSAS Speaker Series Schedule

The monthly speaker series returns on Thursday, September 11. Meeting sites will alternate between the Napa Valley Lutheran Church, 1796 Elm Street, Napa, and the Benicia Public Library, 150 East L Street, Benicia. All programs begin at 7:00 PM. Please check the website for Zoom links to join the programs online.

Job Announcement – Education Coordinator Needed

Would you like to inspire the next generation of birders and conservationists? Are you interested in part-time work with a flexible schedule? If so, apply to be the Education Coordinator for Napa Solano Audubon Society. The Education Coordinator conducts classes in elementary schools in Napa and Solano Counties, leads beginning bird walks, organizes and leads the Christmas Bird Count for Kids, and provides support for other NSAS Events, Citizen Science activities, and similar NSAS tasks. Training will be provided, as needed. The position runs from September to June 2025-26, with potential to become an ongoing position. Applications are due by August 28.
